BOULBY MINE – PICTURE PERFECT

BOULBY MINE PHOTO ACCEPTED FOR GLOBAL CALENDAR.

One of our Cleveland Potash employee, Zoe Cooper, has been successful in having a photo accepted for the annual ICL Global calendar for 2018.

Take a bow Environmental Officer Zoe Cooper. She took the photo (pictured) of the Boulby Mine site while she was out on her rounds last September.

The view is from Roxby Lane and illustrates how what we do at the potash mine goes hand in glove with the natural world surrounding us.

Our Environmental Services team, Zoe and manager Jennie Thomas, make sure we keep abreast of all relevant legislation regarding protecting the environment – a key issue given our geographical location on the edge of the North York Moors and on the beautiful North Yorkshire coast.

As well as ensuring we are compliant with an increasing raft of international, national and local legislation the team are also tasked with ensuring we preserve local wildlife and its habitat.

To this end they’ve been responsible for the wildflower meadows around the Boulby site and devising the planting of four areas with low-lying native shrubs to break up the view of the site from the road.

The theme of the calendar is to introduce and illustrate ICL’s sites, operational and business activities. And Zoe has certainly captured that here.

Zoe is also raising money for Multiple Sclerosis UK, currently at 81% of her target!  You can find out more and donate here.
