Last week, ICL attended its largest careers event this year, at the Science & Technology University Rolla in Missouri (a 2 hour drive south of St Louis).
A collection of 350 organisations from across the US were also present, representing some of the largest engineering companies in the world, such as; Continental, Caterpillar, John Deere, Phillips 66 and BSE (oil & gas).
As world leaders in speciality minerals, ICL is always keen to create a talent pipeline, as this is hugely important in building and sustaining a global company.
ICL US were looking to recruit 10 budding interns, offering placements for 6 to 9 months in their St Louis, MO & Lawrence, KS performance products plants. The intern opportunities offered were:
In four hours, ICL UK’s Andrew Bates (TA Manager Europe) and Rachel Nobles (TA Manager US) (and two previous graduates from Missouri) spoke with more than 100 prospective students looking for internship opportunities beginning 2016. Following the event, Rachel and her team will be conducting 1-1 interviews with a short list of prospective candidates in St. Louis, Missouri.
The night before the careers fair, ICL were invited to take part in a Night to Network event with the students. This was an opportunity for smaller companies to meet and greet the students informally over coffee and pastries (delicious).
Next, ICL will begin its search for talent in Europe, implementing the same strategy in key locations and businesses across Europe beginning 2016. If you are interested in being a part of this, please contact Andrew Bates, Talent Acquisition Manager, Europe.
