POTASH EXHIBITION ROADSHOW HEADS TO REDCAR AND WHITBY…

The rolling exhibition into the past, present and future of the potash mine at Boulby is continuing on its tour of the North Yorkshire and East Cleveland area.

The next big event is a major exhibition at the Redcar and Cleveland Community Leisure and Community Heart building on Ridley Street, Redcar for two days – Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd of June.

After that the exhibition will go on display in Whitby library on Thursday 8th June between 09:30 and 13:00.

Next Wednesday, May 31st, the exhibition will be in Sleights from 13:000 to 16:00.

Along with a film showing many different aspects of the mine there are samples of some of the rocks and minerals extracted from the site and examples of equipment used by the miners.

Everybody is welcome to attend and there will be a team on hand to answer any questions you may have.

The exhibition is part of a series of public consultation exercises being carried out by the owner of the mine, ICL UK, as it seeks an extension to its planning permission from the North York Moors National Park.
