We are delighted to be able to announce the latest series of grants given under our Community Funding programme.

Four very different awards have been given out which will make a big difference to a wide range of community activities.

Saltburn and Marske Swimming Club — £500  — to fund the cost of an electronic software system. It will enable the club to record details of its competitive swimmers, enabling them to keep track of their times thereby helping towards improved performances. An added advantage is that the software will enable the club to run their own galas. This could help expand the club as swimmers from other schools and clubs around the area enjoy competing in these events.

Staithes Athletic Football Club — £500 — towards replacement goal posts.  The old ones are in a poor state of repair causing growing concern over health and safety issues. It will also help the club develop the playing field which is the only one in the area suitable for outdoor sports, activities and tournaments.

Brotton Village Hall — £500 — A recent refurbishment means the hall needs new double fire-doors, the main entry into the hall. The current ones do not meet Health and Safety or Fire regulations for commercial premises. This donation meets the total cost of the project, £1,935.00.

Skelton Villages Civic Pride — £500 — to cover the cost of purchasing five double floral, round-the-pole containers and one barrel to be sited around the area. These will provide a colourful extension to the current display which, it is hoped, will further foster civic pride in the area.
