Boulby supports killy climb to benefit Ambulance Crews

The lengths our workforce and supporters go to in an attempt to help those less fortunate never ceases to amaze us. And we are always keen to support those from other walks of life who are determined to make a difference.

With that in mind meet the latest selfless person who we are happy to financially support as she undertakes a massive challenge.

Step forward Jane Sinclair a paramedic for the North East Ambulance Service based in East Cleveland who is in training for the far from simple task of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. It’s all in aid of a little known but vital organisation called The Ambulance Staff Charity (TASC) whose motto is ‘caring for those who care for us.’ They provide services to support the mental health, physical rehabilitation and financial well-being of all those who work for, or with, the UK’s ambulance service.

Jane sees at first-hand the effect such a front-line job can have on people and knows that it can have a lasting or traumatic impact on those carrying out a vital service.

With a trip to Africa a long-standing ambition she is off to East Africa this autumn to tackle the extinct volcano which, at just under six thousand metres (19,341 feet) is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single, free-standing mountain above sea level in the world.

ICL Boulby fully supports this fundraiser and have donated £500 towards this fantastic effort.

Jane is taking the challenge seriously and has recently come back from a training programme which involved walking the length of Offa’s Dyke – a total of 177 miles. Please consider chipping in to support Jane and assist a very worthwhile charity. There is more about Jane and her challenge at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Jane-Sinclair4
