Fairtrade Fortnight

At the beginning of this week (Feb. 21st) saw the start of this years ‘Fairtrade Fortnight’.

It’s an annual event which is recognised and supported all over the world – and we are proud to be able to say we are, once again, taking part.

Fairtrade is a certification system that seeks to ensure that social, economic and environmental standards are adhered to by companies, workers and farmers involved in the supply chain.

It has a strong presence in the UK, which we are happy to align ourselves with. In our case it means we have a strong, independent and accountable set of guidelines to follow. These lay out the ways we seek to protect and improve workers’ rights, promote safe working practices and conditions and ensure fair compensation is involved in all our dealings.

These structures are clearly defined on our global website and it means our customers can rest assured that our products are manufactured to the highest standards in quality via rigorously ethical processes.

Our approach also underlines the vast amount of work we undertake to improve the local communities around us – part of the community not apart from it.

In this way we can align ourselves with the Fairtrade aim of ensuring everybody can be at the heart of trade justice globally and locally.
