School thanks for salt donation

With the first cold snap of the winter about to get underway help from ICL Boulby will ensure that Belmont Primary School in Guisborough is well prepared.

That’s thanks to a donation of salt from the mine, which is one of the UK’s biggest suppliers to local authorities and highway contractors. Forty bags of 25kg salt have been delivered to the school which covers a large site and will use it to help keep playgrounds, pedestrian and car parking areas safe.

Says Headteacher Chris Gibson “We are extremely grateful for the generous donation from Boulby, which will help us enormously over the winter. The staff who delivered the salt were fantastic and helped us to carry it into our storage area.”

The delivery is part of the mine’s Social Value commitment with the North East Procurement Organisation.
