Young Heroine Raises £1,200 for The Little Princess Trust

In an inspiring act of kindness, 8-year-old Cimmera Brown has successfully raised £1,200 for The Little Princess Trust, a charity dedicated to providing free real hair wigs to children and young people up to the age of 24 who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other conditions. This remarkable feat was achieved through Cimmera’s selfless decision to cut off 16 inches of her golden locks, a significant personal sacrifice made in the spirit of helping others.

The Little Princess Trust is renowned for its commitment to ensuring that every child dealing with hair loss can regain their confidence and identity. By offering wigs made from real hair, the charity helps to restore normalcy and joy in the lives of these young individuals during a time when they need it the most. Cimmera’s generous hair donation will contribute to this noble cause, directly impacting the life of a child and providing them with a wig made from her very own hair.

Cimmera’s fundraising goal was £600, a target she achieved through sheer determination and the support of her community. However, her efforts were so moving that ICL Boulby, a company touched by her story, decided to match her raised amount, bringing the total donation to £1,200. This act of corporate generosity effectively doubled the impact of Cimmera’s campaign, allowing The Little Princess Trust to support even more children. Notably, her campaign received initial support from the Union, further amplifying her efforts and demonstrating the collective power of community backing in making a difference.

The young philanthropist was inspired by the Pink Ladies, a dedicated group known for their tireless efforts in raising money for Cancer Research UK. Witnessing their dedication and the difference they make in the fight against cancer motivated Cimmera to contribute in her own unique way. Her story is a shining example of how compassion and action, regardless of one’s age, can make a significant difference in the lives of others.

Keith and Emily Brown, Cimmera’s parents and employees at Boulby Mine, expressed their immense pride in their daughter’s self-initiated act of kindness. “Cimmera asked us if we would mind if she had her hair cut so she could donate it to little girls that don’t have any. Considering prior to this she never even liked having a trim, we were both shocked but of course said she could if she wanted to, not entirely sure if she would actually go through with it! Cimmera was determined though, we got the appointment booked and she was so nervous but excited at the same time. I cried when she had it cut off but only because I was so bloody proud of what she had done off her own back! Myself and her dad are proud beyond words at what an amazing, selfless thing she has done at such a young age she’s inspirational and has such a generous heart!” This heartfelt quote encapsulates the essence of Cimmera’s journey—a young girl’s unwavering resolve to contribute positively to the world around her.

Congratulations to Cimmera Brown on her successful campaign and her outstanding contribution to The Little Princess Trust. Her story serves as an inspiration to us all, proving that kindness knows no age and that even the smallest act of generosity can have a profound impact on the world.
