Our new development strategy has three main elements:

• Securing a new minerals planning permission – to continue mining for a further 25 years,
• Gaining planning permission for some changes to surface buildings at the mine, and
• Gaining permission to introduce new mine stabilisation below ground – to increase structural integrity.

Over the next few months we will be updating this website as more consultation takes place, including two rounds of public events across the region to help our neighbours understand the changes and why they are needed.
